This is going to be a short post.  There are a lot of things I should be doing right now, but I am not because I am writing this post.  I’ll get to them, but for now I am going to do something else.  This is the main reason why many things I should be doing don’t get done: task bumping. Task bumping is the act of moving a task down the lists of things to do because I would rather not do, so I make excuses and do something other first.

Tell us about something you know you should do . . . but don’t.

The important thing that I should do and do not, or have not, is to stop smoking.  It is inane know all the risks and disadvantages of smoking and still taking so much time to quit.  I am working on it.  I have a category dedicated to the task to help me stay active in that area.  I am do well, take a look if you will, there is a listing for it on the menu.  This passing week I made a goal and I set a new one.  So the “But don’t” part of this post is slated to be history.  Stop by the Quit Smoking posts to support my efforts or provide useful advice.  I need all the help I can find on this “should do.”

    • Thank you. We have issues with cancer in my family as well, which makes it so difficult to understand why I am still smoking. It’s rough, but I’m not giving up…ever.

  2. I think stopping smoking is one of the hardest things a person can do. I wish you well and all the best. Sounds like you have a great attitude!

  3. Yes, stop smoking has got to be one of the toughest things to do.

Bump tasks all day long if that’s what it takes to quit. Quitting has got to be your first priority for awhile at least, because your health has got to be your first priority for now.

Once your health is compromised, you’re done. You are out of options. Take care of yourself.

I wish you loads of blessings and strength to beat this thing. Celebrate every little victory. Be well.

    • Thank you for the support. My focus on health is good. I exercise a hour six days a week, balance my meals, and keep the stress low. If I could do this one thing, Maybe I will live close to forever, yes?
