Who is going to stay home with the babies?
Guess I am just too old to be free-minded on this issue. I have never been forward-moving on women’s rights. I do not believe that having the right to open the door myself or go topless on a beach is a priority in my life. I am a strong believer in equal pay for equal work and those types of equality. However, I seriously do not believe that women belong in combat. Many women excel in the military currently, what is the purpose of putting them in the battlefield with men who are already missing their woman.
Military men are distracted by women when they are at war. What will that come to in the momentary silence of the battlefield with women in the unit, on site? We can all pretend that our military is disciplined and would not consider rape on a battle field. Our history shows different. I also wonder at how many of the women in the military currently, would cow-out under fire. I do understand there are female pilots and teamsters in active duty today that risk their lives to get the job done, but no everyone can do that. Woman lack the muscle, stamina, and hormones to compete with men in the battlefield.
There long has been opposition to putting women in combat, based on questions of whether they have the necessary strength and stamina for certain jobs, or whether their presence might hurt unit cohesion. –AP
If the mother of children is in active duty, what about the father? My sister and her husband were both in the military and had three children. If she were placed in active duty, will the father have to sent home?
My opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
