Saturday morning is the day that I do all the things that I didn’t get done during the week. I don’t schedule work or chores on Sunday, so Saturday is the last chance-day to get the to-do list to-done. I usually work late on Fridays so I get up later on Saturdays. Family day, the day were the children bring over the grandchildren, is Saturday. So, whatever isn’t done before lunch doesn’t get done and some of what is done becomes undone. Once the family arrives, what I want no longer matters. I focus my attention on spending time with the children and entertaining the grandchildren…and cleaning up messes…and preparing a meal for them all.
Me Time: What’s your ideal Saturday morning? Are you doing those things this morning? Why not?
Ideally, I would like to get up early because I didn’t work late the night before and make a hot breakfast for the family. After breakfast, I would like to do whatever I feel like doing or nothing at all.
I am not cooking this morning. The men sleep late because they work nights. I drank Coke for breakfast because it was quicker and easy to consume while I was doing something other. I can do whatever I want, no time police here, but I need to finish sock monkeys before Christmas; that’s what I am working on now. The family is coming over this afternoon, I could tell them not to but I won’t as I enjoy spending time with them even if they make messes and eat too much food.
…thinking about it, I am doing whatever I want.
What a great way to spend a Saturday, doing whatever you want. Enjoy!
